This is quickly becoming one of my favorite snake faces. Every morning he wakes up when I do and peeks his head out of his cave and watches me. He is such an endearing little creature. I don't think he will ever know the happiness that he brings to my mornings.
My two inseparable babies. This is Star and Ori. Before I got Star, Ori would rarely eat and he seemed lonely or depressed.I kept having dreams of a solid white snake. When I got Star I instinctively knew to put her and Ori together. It took a couple of weeks for them to bond but since then they've been inseparable. He eats fine now and seems so happy. They always sleep together and explore together. It's so sweet to watch how much they love each other. 💕
The hardest part about having a day job is leaving these sweet faces behind.
All but two boys were awake and wanting to hang out this morning.
Top: Fae, Marugey, Honey
Middle: Yemaya, Amaru
Bottom: Akasha, Star, Nuri
It's serpent Sunday! This is Amaru. I've had this little guy for awhile now and the poor baby is still a nervous wreck. Today is the most calm that he's been so far. It makes me sad to see him so scared all the time.
I wish people had the respect for these creatures that they deserve. There's no telling what his personality would be like today if he had been raised by someone that cared about him. Luckily he has that now.
Hanging out with Nuri and Akasha today.
Nuri was two years old when I got him. He was no longer wanted by the family that had him.
Akasha was several years old when I got her and I'm the third person that has had her. She originally belonged to a teenage boy, then to someone that could no longer keep her.Snakes get attached to people and their surroundings the same way any other creatures do. I have 10 snakes now and 7 of them were unwanted and/or mistreated by their previous owners.
These snakes can live to be 40+ years old if they are well taken care of. Please don't get a snake as a novelty.
They deserve forever homes just as much as any other animal.
I am in the process of creating a section on here to spread awareness of these amazing creatures. There will soon be a gallery, care instructions, links and a donate button. Donations will allow me to start fostering rescues while they wait for their forever home.
