In 2015, I became the caretaker of a two-year-old ball python named Nuri.
He had been living with a family that was discarding him to make room for lizards.
Treating a living being like an object to be traded.
Nuri opened the portal to this this part of my path.
Not long after he arrived, I began receiving calls and emails about other snakes that needed homes.
Before long, I had become the caretaker of twelve ball pythons.
As of 2025, they range in age from 10 to 27 years old.

Snakes are believed to bridge our realm and the shadow or unseen realms.
To work with them is to work with the energy of transformation, death and rebirth.
The shedding of the old to make way for the new.
When many of these snakes arrived, they were malnourished, living in filth and some had been abused and were terrified of humans.
They carried the heavy energy of trauma.
I connected with them on a telepathic and intuitive level.
I listened with my soul to know how they needed me to care for them and I infused them with so much love and healing energy.
Now they're all healthy, happy and thriving.

I wish I could help every snake in need, but I have to be mindful of my resources and how much I can take on.
To take in more snakes wouldn't be fair to the ones who are already here.

If you have a snake that needs a new home, please don't put them on Craigslist or social media.
There are so many scammers, flippers and people who don't have the snake’s best interests at heart.
Connect with a local rescue group.
And please, don't release them outside assuming they'll be fine.

These snakes deserve freedom.
Not a life in glass or plastic cages.
That being said, if you feel called to have a snake in your life, please adopt one in need rather than buying from a breeder or pet store.
Most breeders keep these sentient beings in stacks of small plastic tubs and only get them out to breed.
That's no life for any creature.

Before you invite a snake into your home, do your research.
Snakes in captivity can live up to 40+ years.
They are not novelty items or photo props.
They bond with their humans.
Make sure you have the time, finances and energy to provide proper heating, humidity, food, water, trips to the vet when needed and clean housing.
